Just like any part inside the house, the roof is just as important! With our houses constantly being exposed to multiple natural and harsh elements from outside, this can cause significant damage to roofs and invite unwanted guests such as mould, mildew, moss, algae and lichen due to the moisture that stays on the roof. As a result, it can result in cracks on the surface, leaks and cause tiles to fall off, making it extremely dangerous for those walking below.
Moss is one of the most common forms of fungi to occur on roofs, which can significantly reduce its lifespan particularly if it is untreated wood or asphalt. When moss grows on roofs it can also cause the roof to stay moist, which can promote erosion of roof tiles ultimately affecting the aesthetic of the roof.
Therefore, when we clean your roof, it is important that we are cleaning all of the sediment to prevent it from re-growing. Our process starts with using a higher pressure cleaner at exactly 4100 PSI, which is just the right pressure to remove natural sediment however prevent causing damage to the roofing itself. We also place a sterilising treatment and fungicide on the roof to ensure that if anything is missed, it is killed effectively. This will also ensure that the roof is protected for many years into the future without affecting the colour and texture of the roof.
Whilst on the roof, we will also clean the guttering which is an essential part of the job as the natural sediment removed from the roof will most likely fall into this area. Consequently, to prevent build up in this area and unwanted growth, we will ensure that water can flow without any interference or clogs.
